Every year I return to my hometown to visit family and friends. It’s a strange place to me now. Brantford, Ontario, was voted the most typical city in Canada, not the most beautiful. In fact, it’s rather plain and ugly. Time seems to have stopped here, nothing changes. And I think of the words of T. S. Eliot,
“In my beginning is my end”, as the rain runs down the windshield.
